How often should I work out?

The good news is that you don’t have to exercise for hours on end to feel the health benefits of physical activity. Just by moving a little bit each day, you’re already decreasing the risk of many chronic health conditions. Ideally, you should aim for 30 minutes of daily movement. That could include cycling to work, playing with the kids or trying out one of the workouts in the Action! centre.

It’s proven that by doing muscle-strengthening exercises, two days each week, you’ll reduce your risk of conditions like osteoporosis and painful injuries. Not to mention how much it’ll enhance your mental health and happiness levels!

I like to remind people, that exercising regularly is fantastic but they should also try to remain active for the rest of the day. Little things like standing up while talking on the phone and getting off the bus two stops early all adds up!
